Lonely week and the New Year

Well well, Mr. 2011 is finally here! In spite of all the chaos that's been happening in the city, added with the chilly weather and rising prices of commodities and the recent inflation of 14.44%, folks did actually celebrate the start of another year. And why not? People DO celebrate this one day in all of 365 or 366 days no matter what. But all of them had one thing in common, that is being in the company of the people they know, which makes their moment a more happy one, kinda like adding the "happier" attribute to the already overflowing "happy times" attribute pot.

This is what I was thinking while sipping my favorite hot mug of coffee today. I strongly consider this post to be highly anti-social, but I think it's only natural that I have become a sort of anti-social workaholic-y robot, given I have stayed alone for a long duration without making much of a person-to-person contact with any human being for four days in a stretch, and the only mode of communication with the outside world was Facebook and the phone. 

Lot of work did come along the way. Project work, Sports fest work, GATE preparation, in addition to cooking and other minor household chores. All of this, I realized, came in one big package, cruelly in the form of a gift wrapping on 25th December 2010. My friend called me up on 26th and wished me "happy birthday", and I had actually forgotten about it. And thus started the standard lines a guy living alone would expect from his well-wishers : 

" How are you celebrating? " 

" No yaar, I'm not celebrating anything. Just another normal day" 

"Ohh that's SAD. Poor you!"

"Nah it's ok! Won't make much difference."

Of course it's SAD! I'm just a tad short of being a terminator if I had an endo-skeleton made of titanium alloy! I can stand myself being alone for days together, but sympathy (genuine or fake) is just making it worse. I really thank all of them who showed concern and wished me, but it does not feel that good anymore.


By the way, the comments in quotation are general. It's not directed to anyone.

Things weren't all that bad in the last few days of this week (read the year). Few of them finally started to work in my favor. My final year project, for example, seemed feasible after a tension filled 10 days. By the way, my project is based on a LabView based robotic arm, about which I'll keep posting a lot soon!! =] 

The organizing of the sports fest was going surprisingly smooth, although I'm still wondering what we have achieved till now. GATE preparation was going strong as well, and I intend to take it up to a new level.

Now, about 2011 (No, I don't make resolutions).

2011 started off with a fascination that people really put so much thought into : 1-1-11. Nothing can be said about it more than that. 

Another point of interest that will happen in the near future, is the decision of the Srikrishna Panel on the separate Telangana state. I think it will be in the favor of TRS and the people so emotionally attached to the Telangana region. Although I've ceded to be a big fan of holidays, I am expecting more holidays and bandhs to come by. More about the topic after the decision gets out, along with expert reviews and opinions. :)
